Episode 85
Being a Good Human with Dawn Hammer
Stacy and Brenda talk to Dawn Hammer about her book The Good Human and how it came to be. How we can recognize the ego and its patterns and differentiating it from our Authentic Self. Why the foundation of breath is so important and its importance before beginning inner work. What is genuine curiosity and its importance for ourselves and our communities. How to cultivate empathy to remember our human connections. How to choose to act from Love rather than react in Fear (and why these are the only two choices). The spirituality behind dismantling oppressive systems. How to change our mindset and why it’s essential on the path to becoming a Good Human.
Author Dawn K. Hammer has had a lifelong love affair with self-discovery. A high school dropout at the age of 17, recovered drug addict at the age of 18, and now a university graduate at the age of 44, she’s endlessly curious about the inner workings of the human mind and fiercely devoted to untangling the thoughts, ideas, and ideologies that keep us stuck. The Good Human, her first published book, is an offering to help us remember the good, holy, and beautiful housed within every human being.
